]]> The fabulous Filey Folk Festival has begun, filling the town’s pubs and streets with music and song. From virtually every pub comes the enticing sounds of live music, something that is even more wonderful to hear after the long covid lockdowns.

On Thursday evening the festival opener flew out of the blocks at a packed Glasshouse. Over the next three days scores of acts will appear in venues as diverse as the Evron Centre and the tiny Tommy’s. In the pubs and cafes entrance is free. Whilst at the Evron and Masonic Hall the headliners are ticket only, but even then the prices are relatively cheap for an evening’s top quality entertainment. A real highlight being the sea shanty group The Salts who are appearing at the Evron Centre on Saturday night.
