Filey set for food festival this weekend

Filey, News   /

Filey is preparing for its annual summer food festival, which will be taking place over the course of this weekend (10th-11th of June 2017).

World food stalls, cooking demonstrations and rare produce for sale are just some of the attractions at the event, exciting foodies across the UK.

The Organiser, Chris said:

“You can more or less eat anything you want. There’s a local hog roast which is always very popular, there’s three licensed bars which include a Yorkshire cider bar and a Prosecco bar.

There’s a lot of street food around that particular area of the festival.

For the very first event I think we had about 2,000 people through over the weekend. It’s quite a small number but it was the first one we’d ever done.

For the last one we held in October, we had about 15,000 people come over the two days.

We’re getting a lot of interest from the north east now. People want to know a bit more about it so I’ve been up there, handing out leaflets and just explaining what’s going on here.”

It’s the fifth year Filey has hosted the event.
