The flags and out and Filey is resplendent ahead of the Jubilee Weekend. Bunting is everywhere and Union flags are being proudly displayed from seemingly every vantage point. And it wouldn’t be complete with a celebratory bonnet on the post box!
After a slow start, the Town Council has come good and several events are planned around the town. There are many events centred around the bandstand, with picnics on the gardens on the Saturday and the Sunday. Bring along your own food and maybe even fizz and let’s hope that the Clerk of the Weather is kind to us.
Perhaps the highlight is the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon on the Country Car Park at 21.45 on Thursday. This has been organised by the indefatigable Filey Lions. The other events planned and are reproduced on the list below.
